I have always wondered this (for other games as well), but is there a quality difference between the main file and the compressed version, or is the only difference the size of the file?
For most people, the compressed version still looks basically the same. For others, it might be more noticeable, it just depends on your hardware. I personally don't like compressing my games because it does diminish the quality of the video animations, especially for the builds for computers. Compressed games on android is another story. I have no idea how much it affects the quality because I don't own an android. But most of my android users tell me they prefer the non-compressed version.
I was under this impression as well, but thanks for the response. I have the storage to do the uncompressed versions of these games, but I tend to download a lot of stuff on my drives, so I was unsure if it is still a good idea to do the uncompressed. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing now and do the uncompressed stuff.
Also, really love your game, N2. The pace is pretty quick, but the games I've been playing lately are slow burns and honestly playing this was really refreshing. Looking forward to checking out chapter 2 once I finish this one. I want to keep moving along...but the song I mentioned when Mia shows up stopped me in my tracks lol. Best wishes.

Here's my opinion: I like AVNs with great stories and this one didn't really meet the mark for me. It feels like a constant alternation between a problem being presented and that same problem being solved. There's barely any struggle or twists.
And then there's excessive power creep. None of the power the MC gains really feels earned and it happens way too quickly, which prbly is a consequence of the first problem.
Then there's little foreshadowing or any predictability of what could happen. The magic system is soft and all I can do is watch as stuff happens that I just have to accept.
I liked the characters but there are too many LIs here which waters down the bond with each of them. The lewds are okay but often feel very basic and are over before you know it.
So this game didn't scratch my itch for a great story. But that's okay, this is your first work after all and honestly I'm quite spoiled by the high caliber AVNs. I still appreciate your efforts and I'm sure that you're now more skilled than when you started.
I'm considering to check out your other games as well but I'm unsure whether their stories will intrigue me. Based on my feedback, would you recommend them to me?

With that said, to answer your question... first of all, Serenity definitely suffers from everything you mentioned. In fact, nothing you've said here is anything I haven't heard before. I know that adversity in the story is resolved too quickly. It is something I took note of when I started writing Last Human. Considering that you posted in the Serenity page, I'm wondering now if you have tried Serenity Chapter 2? FWIW, I believe that certain aspects of my development do improve in chapter 2, and probably more so in Last Human.
Each of my games still suffer from various things that random people dislike. I mean, let's face it, I am by no means calling myself a professional writer or even a professional graphic artist. But I do learn from proper, creative criticism when it is given. And I have tried to apply that into my work as I have grown.
Also, I want to reply directly to the first sentence in your post. To be fair, I think you might be referring to something I posted a while ago. I do not let feedback influence me anymore (to a degree). When a person tries my visual novels, then takes the time to write an honest review, I DO listen. I have a spreadsheet of notes with sentences that were taken right from those reviews. Many of them I've already highlighted as mostly completed.
Of course, none of this bears any weight on Serenity (chapter 1) because, honestly it desperately needs some rewriting - which I have plans to do later. As well as updating the graphics and animations. I've learned a ton of things about graphics that I didn't know then.
Finally, yes... I'm quite guilty of having some short sex scenes. But if you play Last Human, you should notice some improvement there.
I really dislike having to answer someone who asks me "should I play your game?" - I'll explain why... I believe that you should play any game that looks at all interesting to you. Give the dev a shot (not just me, but any). If you post your thoughts in a kind manner as you did here, you've done the community a service - if that dev takes notice and tries to improve based on your ideas about his game, and if more people would do that, I believe you would see a lot of better work out there.
Anyway, I'm rambling now. But thanks again for your post. I hope you will sit down, relax, and take a shot at Serenity Chapter 2 (it only has 3 episodes at this point) as well as Last Human (now at 4 episodes). If I can turn you around with at least one of those, that would make my day. If not, well... I tried and hopefully you'll come back one day to see if I'm doing things better.

If you would've told me that this writing style is intentional I would've put the "not for me" stamp on it and moved on to other games instead. Many 18+ game created add tags that they don't personally like for fan's & reaching new audience. Can't you do it please but make it optional so if someone don't like it can avoid.
i respect and appreciate the love, effort and passion that went into this game or lets say project. im sure many would have left an unfinished game as it would be ones first project but you kept going and you can really see the differences while you go trough the game. Id say overall its one of the better ones to play compared to all the alternatives from the same time but this one even has a chapter two ;) which is ofc nice because you get to see the character you get to know in another game and it didnt just end
I'm pretty early into it for now, only on day 6 but I have some things I want to say, might edit once I finish the game if I feel like it
First of all I want to say I like the idea behind the game, the book written by MC's mom transporting him in a different realm where there will be issues but where there's everything he needs to solve these issues is a decent set up. Doesn't make for huge stakes but there doesn't need to be.
As for the character models they feel a bit uncanny, like there's something that doesn't look right but you can't really pinpoint it. The hair is slightly bothering me but this is all subjective and not an actual negative thing.
When it comes to the storytelling though I have something to say, especially regarding the pacing. I think everything is going too fast at the start, I don't know how it goes later so I won't speak for it, maybe you were in a hurry to finish the ground work and go deeper into it once you have the early stage down, I don't know. But it feels like everything goes way too fast. There is no time to like any character, you just get thrown around left and right without really having time to care about anything or anyone. The situation with Morgan feels like it gets solved too fast, then we're immediately thrown into the thing with Cass and that gets immediately resolved too and she apologizes and calls you Master.
I get it, this isn't supposed to be a game with 10/10 writing, but I still think the pacing is extremely important and decided to share my thoughts. I still appreciate the game and will most likely play it all night
Everything you said here is pretty old news for Serenity. Keep in mind, if you're only in Chapter 1, that stuff was done like 3 and 4 years ago and was my very first project. There are TONS of mistakes and issues. As you progress further into it, you should notice it slightly improving the further you go, both in terms of writing and graphics. Those early scenes are super cringe even for me and I made it! LOL! It desperately needs to be redone, but that task is way too much to handle while still developing Serenity Chapter 2 and also Last Human. I work on them in tandem (Serenity Chapter 2, episode 3 was just released a bit over a month ago, and now I am working on episode 4 of Last Human). Anyway, keep going and hopefully you'll like it. Try my other project, Last Human also. I learned and progressed a lot by the time I started that one. Serenity will be ending with Chapter 2. Probably 4 or 5 more episodes.
Yeah I knew it would be getting better after all that's how gaining experience works, I just like sharing my thoughts on things as they come so I came here to give my current take on the game as I was experiencing it. And I understand that remaking the start of it would be a tremendous amount of work, especially if it involves fixing the pacing issues. Picking when to cut between remaking and leaving as is, lining it up with the complete story, It sounds like a huge pain in the ass
As for your other game I was planning on playing it as soon as I was done with chapter 2, I'm still on chapter 1 for now though so it won't be until quite a few hours from now

I've heard nothing from any of the other android users and it was downloaded a LOT. This game deserves the 4.5 stars rating. I've been a bit sceptical when I downloaded it, since it has been criticized by many people. But the plot and the characters caught me really fast, which made me finish the game in one session. Great work! Also, I'm looking forward to the planned remake of this chapter :D
This may be a little weird but if you're taking sugyes in most animes and other stuff usually cat girls / neko girls For some reason their tails are extremely sensitive in a really lewd way 😏 It's just a suggestion that's all
if you ever rerender the first chapter for sound effects and all that, or in the future for chapter 2, i heavily recommend the instant transmission sound effect for some of the summoning and appearing instances. Badass in a fight, and funny as a joke. Great game so far though
