Serenity Dev Log (8 Feb 2021)

Hello Neko lovers...

Figured I'd start posting up some dev logs to keep you guys informed of where I am on the next update and latest happenings.

As you know, I am currently working on version 0.8 - the follow-up to 0.7b which hopefully you've all seen by now. We're starting to get into the good bits of the story now and I'll have to be careful not to spoil anything and ruin the fun. Currently, I am almost 1/4 through the renders, coding/script is done (not counting the minor changes I make to it along the way).

A few things to look forward to - Serenity now has a replay gallery where you can replay lewd scenes. For most of you, when you first play this next update, your gallery will be empty. Not to worry though as once you cross over into day 8, all previous scenes will be automatically added to the gallery. Next we have the new animated main menu screen. It was time to give Serenity a facelift of sorts. I've kept my original music here; I've heard some great feedback on my song. The rest of the music in Serenity is NOT mine, but licensed through an online music library. I spent a lot of time going through tracks with moods and atmosphere in scenes in mind and tried to apply music I felt worked with the scene. Most of the music is techno/calm but you may also hear some "epic" and/or rock anthem stuff later for bigger scenes.

There will be a very minor bug when you start playing version 0.8. When we added the gallery, it broke the playername. There really wasn't any way around this but to add a command into the code that would "fix it" when you cross it. Honestly, you may not even notice it if you saved your game very close to the end of day 7. Basically, it will put "None" in place of the MC name where it is mentioned. If you are going to be playing Serenity for the first time, this will not be an issue at all. I will post these notes again on release day.

Partway into this update, you may notice the girls' skin change slightly. Cryoxxx and I have been upgrading characters in our games with this more realistic looking skin. The look is much more natural than the flat, smooth color of the original. This is even more noticeable with wet skin. I can't wait for you guys to see them. If any of my Fade Crown members have shared the custom renders I've done for them, some of those display this new skin.

That's all I have for now. I'll try to keep future dev logs a bit shorter... I know I'm long winded, sorry about that! Love you all...
